COSPONSORED PROGRAM

Chicago: A Global City

The Honorable Richard M. Daley, Mayor, City of Chicago

Mayor Richard M. Daley will address Chicago’s diverse business, civic and cultural communities at an international breakfast on Thursday, January 15, 2009. This will be the first time that Mayor Daley will deliver a public address highlighting the work of the Chicago Sister Cities International Program and the City of Chicago’s "global vision" for the coming year.

Mayor Richard M. Daley was elected mayor of the city of Chicago on April 4, 1989, to complete the term of the late Harold Washington, and was re-elected in 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2007 by overwhelming margins. He has earned a national reputation for his innovative, community-based programs to address education, public safety, neighborhood development, and other challenges facing American cities. Time magazine, in its April 25, 2005 issue, said Daley "is widely viewed as the nation's top urban executive."

Proceeds benefit Chicago Sister Cities International, a 501(c)3 organization.
